Wayfinding

The support we provide

The Wayfinding program provides services to individuals in the community who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. The foundation of the program is based on building and maintaining the following:

  • A non- judgmental, safe, and confidential space

  • Relationships with each unique individual seeking assistance  (our services are dependent on an assessment of program appropriateness and capacities)

  •  Our broad range of services also includes advocacy, support and any appropriate community referrals in the areas of financial assistance, medical, mental health, addictions and justice system.

  • We assist with obtaining personal identification, basic tax preparation, collection and distribution of mail, and safe storage of any documents.

  • The distribution of personal hygiene items, outside clothing, footwear and emergency food items on an ongoing basis

Our services are delivered by two social workers: Sherry Besler and Courtney Arndt. To access support, call the office or come during drop-in hours from 1-4. This program operates Monday-Thursday at the Edson Friendship Centre Bingo Hall. Harm reduction supplies are available in office every day with our outreach worker, Ben Woelfing.
